Lisa began her self rediscovery journey much like others do… with an inquiry. Many moons ago while working her long held day job as a 30 something musician/party girl barista with anger issues, hangovers, and chronic pain she pondered… This can’t be it, there has to be more to life than this. I can’t keep living this way. My body hurts, I’m “too old” for this, I want more for myself. She was tired of it all. And life was losing its luster. Enter panic mode… “Now what, I don’t know how to do anything else?!”
So she set out to find answers beginning with returning to school at Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University receiving 2 associates and 1 bachelor's degree; graduating top of her class. Little did she know how every life experience, every bad decision and good move, skill and failure, and all this personal and public schooling would weave together so perfectly.
She has always had a thirst for knowledge and it shows. Her educational background is as vast as her wit and taste in music (she has impeccable taste in music). Biology, A&P, ethics, veterinary medicine, Latin, Spanish, psychology, ecology, wildlife conservation, chemistry, botany, human and animal behavior, and self study/discipline topics such as addiction, anthropology, philosophy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, music and sound healing, spirituality, yoga, somatics, Human Design, and other holistic therapies.
While her involvement in a touring band (1993-2006), formal education (2010-2014), the new opportunities it opened up, and general wanderlust took her on many adventures, she still felt deep inside that something else was missing. A pressure was building. A lot of questions around career, lifestyle, spirituality, emotions, relationships, chronic pain, and internal mental conflict arose.
After several years of “going through the motions” , looking in all the “wrong” places, and reading some of the “right” books, getting frustrated with her own situations and wonky spine, Lisa was unknowingly being prepared for something bigger. She signed up for her very first Zoom breathwork session in March 2020, just as the pandemic was unfolding in the US. Kismet.
After about 6 months of weekly sessions in tandem with other lifestyle changes, lots of yoga, walks, and surprisingly rapid destruction and growth she was led to Holosomatic® Breathwork teacher training with InnerCamp in September 2020 (with whom she still collaborates as a teacher trainer, coach, and cheerleader).
It was a profound transformation and exactly what she was seeking. Like a slingshot into a whole new world as she began to realize everything she needed was already within. Working somatically helped her body and mind begin to trust one another again. Working with the breath brought her a new relationship with presence and Source. … ahem, I mean the Force. FF through what felt like a lifetime of lessons and wisdom within just a couple years, Lisa then added the Innercamp Bodywork Therapy for Trauma Release course in 2023… a potent compliment to her already powerful, unique, breathwork offerings.
Lisa is a certified trauma informed master breathwork and bodywork practitioner who travels internationally to study, work, play, and train others in the art of Holosomatic® breathing practices, somatic therapies and trauma cycle completion and release strategies.
Her Holosomatic® Breath and Bodywork techniques are powerful tools for shifting the nervous system and catalyzing huge energetic, physical, and emotional releases from the body.
She creates safe, compassionate, healing containers that she holds with humor, fearlessness, truth, and absolute professional integrity.
You can find her: singing her heart out in Kirtan, wandering with friends, conjuring joy, exercising her sacred audacity, volunteering at CATSS Oberlin, working with the Force, screaming in the car, dancing in the dark, staring into fires, traveling the globe, ears deep in audiobooks and podcasts, and in the Aldi Finds aisle.
You wanna hang out with her, you just don’t know it yet. 😉
ABOUT HOLOSOMATIC® THERAPIES
Holo (whole) somatic (body) Breathwork, Bodywork & Meditation are comprehensive therapeutic approaches that blends ancient practices, the latest scientific research, and components of psychotherapy to address physical, emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual aspects of healing to aid in alleviating tension and trauma stored within the body.
This method recognizes that traumatic experiences can imprint themselves on a cellular level and in subtle energy bodies, manifesting as emotional and physical distress.
Techniques such as controlled breathing patterns, therapeutic touch, movement, sound and vocalization, mindfulness, and energy healing are employed to foster a deep reconnection with one's body and inner self, facilitating the release of trapped emotional and physical energies.
Holosomatic Breathwork and Bodywork are “bottom up” approaches which impact the autonomic nervous system, promoting a shift from states like hyperarousal or immobilization—common responses to trauma and chronic stress/tension—towards relaxation and safety. This physical state change supports the body's natural healing processes, contributes to emotional stability, and enhances the ability to move more consciously between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system responses.
The benefits of this unique blend of psychosomatic modalities can extend beyond symptom relief including but not limited to:
Emotional understanding, regulation, release, and control
Trauma healing, energetic cycle completion and release
Stress reduction and relaxation
Gain clarity or insights akin to psychedelic medicine experiences
Increased vitality and energy
Deepened connection to joy, pleasure, play, and softness
Enhance your spiritual connection and growth
Improve relationship to self, others, Nature, and Spirit
Boost self esteem, confidence, and inner authority (intuition)
Alleviating pain and boosts efficacy/function of body systems (immune, nervous, circulatory, respiratory, etc…)
Act as prevention medicine and widen the window of tolerance
Holosomatic® Breathwork, Bodywork, and Meditation can also be a potent addition to cognitive therapy.
